Knitting and Reading

Happy Wednesday! Hard to believe that we are already in the middle of June, although the weather has been more like August recently. Still too hot to knit anything big. I am still stash-busting and this week I am knitting bath mitts to replace some of ours that have become pretty much worn out. I am reading "O Pioneers!" by Willa Cather. I started it on Monday and I am almost finished. I like it although it centers more on the personal life of the characters and does not say very much about life as a pioneer in general.

Hop on over to Ginny's blog to see what everyone else is knitting and reading this week.
Have a wonderful second half of the week!

I know what you mean about knitting in the heat. It was 97 here yesterday!! After some dishcloths i am back to hats. Oh well. What can I do. They'll be worn eventually :). Happy Yarn along!

I agree with you about the heat..we need a break and not in the form of a hurricane!
Your book sounds a little like mine. I am so disappointed in mine because it has so many wonderful possiblities and these people blew it!

I enjoy summer knitting especially having cotton projects! Yours looks great.

I want to read that book! I got it on tape once when I was on a road trip, but it couldn't hold my interest (it could have been because I couldn't get the volume above the yelling kids;)) So I'm thinking I should try it in print form.
