Yarn Along

A cold and icy yarn along today. But at least it is sunny. We had some snow on Monday afternoon, quickly followed by freezing rain and now everything is covered with a layer of ice. It thaws a little in the sunshine and then freezes over again.

I plan on knitting at least one pair of socks every month this year and I am already one month behind. These are my January socks. My boy Jack is terrified of the noise the dpns are making and so I try to avoid knitting with them when he is around (I don't like scaring my cats) and since he hangs around me a lot I am not making much progress on my socks. I have already ordered some bamboo needles.

These are the squares for my 2015 Crochet Blanket project. I decided to use the colors I used in the Doctor Who scarf, using up the leftovers and then buying what is needed as I go along.

I am reading War Brides by Helen Bryan.

I love the idea of knitting a pair of socks a month, I may try that next year.
Miss Bette is at the vets this morning having a little procedure so she won't be in heat every other day. I am really missing her and can't wait for her to come home tomorrow.

Lovely blanket and socks! Too funny that the needles scare Jack!

I had high hopes of always having socks on the needles, but now two weeks have gone by without that goal being met. Love your socks and I bet you can catch up!!

I've got socks going, too, and while I didn't intend to be knitting a pair each month as you plan to, it seems it just might be how my knitting year falls out! I just love those little squares you're working on...I have a similar project that has been hibernating for quite some time and it might be time to wake it up! :)

A pair a month is a really good goal. I would definitely use up some of that stash that I have! I love the yarn color. Purple is my favorite.

You are going to love knitting with the bamboo needles. That is all I use, because I clutch the metal ones too tight and then my hands ache. Doesn't happen with the bamboo.

I had my first ice dance this afternoon. It was an interesting experience to say the least! I had a cat that was frightened of plastic bags and tinfoil. I totally understand you ordering bamboo needles! Your socks are looking good. Love the colour and the pattern.
