Another Finish

Another one of my small summer knits, done in thin wool yarn. The pattern is called Stone Croft and can be found on Ravelry. The yarn is Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Sport in Amethyst Heather. It was a very enjoyable knit.

Feline Friday

Mr. Moose (the other cats are quite happy not to be followed around with the camera, they don't mind leaving the FF to him for a while).

Knitting

I tried a different pattern for the hats for the cancer center. I like it, it is easy and knits up quickly. Both hats are done in a soft cotton yarn. The colors are not as pale as they look in the picture.

Reyna #2

I liked the pattern so much I made another one. Yarn is Knitpicks Stroll Handpainted again, the colorway is Hayride. In both shawls I knitted stockinette stitch between the mesh parts instead of garter stitch because my garter stitch turned out a little tight and made the shawl look wonky.

Summer Knitting

This is one of four knitting projects I finished recently. They are all done in thin wool yarns and need to be blocked. The pattern for this shawl is Reyna and it can be found on Ravelry. The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Handpainted, colorway Tree Fort. It is soft and squishy and lovely to work with.

A New Blanket

With the help of Mr. Moose I was able to finally finish my Gretchen Afghan. The colors in the picture are a little off but I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Knitting and Baking

Last weekend I baked a Lemon Crumb Cake, which was delicious and I finished the Blarney Stone Cowl, a fun and easy knit.

I know my little blog has become rather quiet this year but there is really not much going on around here. We are all well, the house is still standing, the car is still running and there is plenty of yarn to keep me busy. I did not plant a garden this year, so no veggie pictures and I spend most of my time in my room, knitting away and watching movies or listening to audio books. I still cook and bake but usually I forget to take pictures. I'll pop in whenever one of my many projects gets finished and when the kitties allow me to take pictures of them.

Jahresdecke 2016

Nachdem ich mich Anfang April umentschieden hatte, ist nun die Haekeldecke doch schon ein Stueck gewachsen.

After changing my mind at the beginning of April, the new crochet blanket is coming along nicely.

Recently Finished

I finished two more blankets for the cancer center and with the leftover yarn I knitted myself a pair of slippers. I really like the colors in that yarn and see another project with it in my future.

While I was away ...

... I turned our unused front room into 'my room'. One area for sewing and cutting and one for stitching, knitting and napping (as needed). The bins hold my yarn and fabric stash and I am looking forward to spending many a happy and productive hour in there. The room faces north so it is not getting too hot in Summer but it also means it is a little dark. I am getting a new work light today since my old one called it quits a while ago. There is also a wardrobe that holds all my clothes and an exercise thingy and I am sharing one corner with the laundry hamper. The cats seem to like it too.

Jahresprojekt 2016
