1. Advent

No, stop, I am not ready, it is way too early. My thoughts this morning. How did it get so late in the year already, where did the time go? I am not quite ready to get ready for Christmas. We are in the middle of rearranging the living room and the house is a bit of a mess, lots of stuff needs to go to the library and the thrift store, and a lot of planning and plotting needs to happen.

But for now I am just going to enjoy a quiet morning, light a candle and have another coffee. Happy first Advent Sunday to everyone.

Knitting hats is as much fun as knitting socks, almost instant gratification. And I figure if I knit lots of hats for a cold Winter, it may not get so cold after all, like when you bring an umbrella and it never rains.

Knitting

I knitted a hat for myself. The pattern is called Blizzard, it was inspired by a hat worn in Bones, you can find it on Ravelry. Although I knitted it in the largest size it is not as slouchy as it should be, but it fits and it is very warm.

Crochet Fun

I treated myself to a lovely new crochet book and could not resist trying a few of the patterns immediately with yarn from my stash. I am pretty sure the fall colored blocks (and many more of their siblings) will become a blanket next year.

Del's Birthday

Yesterday was Del's Birthday. I baked him a cake and he got his usual birthday hat, this year he requested a green one, he also picked the style. I also knitted him some slippers to keep his toes warm this Winter.

I am still here

There is still a lot of doing and making going on but most of it I cannot show at the moment, it is that time of the year, you know. :-) We had two cats that were not feeling well for a couple of days but they are both okay again, just some hairball trouble. And then there are two humans who are also not running on all cylinders at the moment. So a lot of tea is being consumed and a lot of books are being read. I hope we will all be fit again soon and then I can show you what I have been up to. Till then, take care.
