It was a cross stitch kind of day today. I finished stitching a heart motive and started on Mary Mouse.

1. Advent
And so it begins.
Advent, Advent,
ein Lichtlein brennt.
Erst eins, dann zwei,
dann drei, dann vier,
dann steht das Christkind vor der Tür.

Friday Night with Friends
I made another stocking. This one is a little bigger than the red one, although it is the same yarn. Maybe the white yarn is a little thicker. I also made more squares for my Maybelle Blanket and finished the red chair rug.
Looking forward to going visiting and checking out what everybody else was up to tonight.

Del's Birthday
His cake - Apple Spice Cake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese frosting.
His (handmade) gift, he also got a CD he had wanted for a while.
Lunch (ribs from our favorite local pig farm and oven fries).

Another finished project
My little Christmas stitchery is finished. Next time I want to stitch on dark blue, irregularly woven linen, please talk me out of it. I ended up using two (!) magnifying glasses and a sheet of white paper behind the fabric just to see the holes. But I am happy with how it turned out.

Weekend
I knitted chair rugs because the seats of these old chairs can get mighty cold in Winter. The blue one is finished, now I am working on a red one.
There was no Halloween action in our street, just like it was in the past two years, which is fine with me. I can't afford to buy candy for people I don't know and I don't like it when the cats get spooked. The whole street was dark and quiet.
Our Halloween dinner was Halloween pasta with blue cheese sauce and an Irish Barmbrack with mulled wine for dessert.
I did not feel like making the pizza I had planned for Saturday but then I found this recipe on FB and tried it immediately. It is seriously yummy.
Del has the next week off and I am looking forward to sleeping in until the sun is up, celebrating his birthday and taking it easy.
