I decided to make another temperature blanket, this time a little different. I am making granny squares, each round representing the daily temperature at noon. One square per week. Another project to use up my stash. Here is the first square.

Hello 2020!

Not a bad start. Last night was quiet for the most part. When we heard fireworks in the distance we assumed it must be midnight and wished each other a sleepy 'Happy New Year" (we went to bed at our usual time).

Today I did a little bit of this and a little bit of that, knitted a new dishcloth, watched some silly movies, started a new book and cleaned up my laptop (saved things to an external hard drive and deleted a lot of old stuff). He (yes, my laptop is a boy) is not feeling very well and I hope he will be with me a bit longer, austerity budgets to not carry new (used) laptops within them.

Our main focus in the coming weeks (maybe months) is to cycle the kittens through their vet visits, getting them spayed and neutered. We are still trying to catch the mother and we hope we will succeed before she gets herself pregnant again. We are lucky to have a good and not too expensive vet.

I don't do new year's resolutions but one of my goals is to finish all my unfinished projects and use up my extensive yarn stash. We will see how that goes.

Good Bye 2019

And good riddance! One of the worst years of my life.

I hope 2020 will be kinder and a little easier. I need time to heal and recover from all the heartbreak and stress this year has dealt me and I hope to get back to doing the things I love. I guess the best thing was finding and rescuing the kittens, the worst thing was losing two of our own. And there were so many negative things happening in between these two, I am glad I did not lose my mind.

Heartbroken once more

We lost Miss Elsa today. She was a sweet and loving cat and a good mother who gave us 5 beautiful kittens. I hope she is reunited with her son Jackie.
I am done with this year, I cannot take any more, I am tired beyond tired and unbelievably sad.

Hello! We are now 10 weeks old and have names. We are Buffy, Vincent, Rosie and Constance. We love to jump and play and eat. And we are really cute and cuddly.

More baby demons. 

We have borrowed a life trap and hope to catch their mama soon before we need to find a bigger house. But honestly, what am I supposed to do? Leave them outside to perish or become feral? That will never happen. Once you have more than 3 cats a few more don't matter (well, except financially maybe, the vet bills at the beginning are quite something). There is nothing wrong with the little ones eye, he just blinked at the wrong time.
