Kittens!
Guess what? Almost 8 years after the last delivery a friendly neighborhood cat dropped of her babies with us - again. I guess that big "S" for sucker is still on our house.
There were only two and this time I brought them in immediately. Mom does not show any interest in coming anywhere near us, I wish she would so we could at least have her fixed. I hate that so many people let their cats outside without neutering them first.
That brings our cat count to 10 and I guess we officially qualify as 'crazy cat people' now. :-) I can't help it, I just love cats.
They are two boys, one orange, one tuxedo. We named them Merry and Pippin and once you have a name you are part of the family. Merry is the orange one, he is bigger than Pippin but still prefers the bottle over the canned food. Pippin goes after the solid food with gusto. I am dead on my feet from stress and kitten care and trying to make my gang feel all loved and cared for and give them the feeling that nothing much has changed (except the little moving furballs in the carrier).

More finishes
I finished another blanket and a shawl. The shawl is for the donation box, the blanket will very likely stay with me. The pattern for the blanket is called "Wisteria Fischer" so I just had to make it in purple.

Hello there!
Well, getting back into blogging regularly proved way more difficult than I expected. I really don't have much to say, I don't want to waffle on about my personal life, which is, honestly neither that exciting nor that interesting and the cats don't like having their picture taken. My old camera gave up the ghost and I am still trying to familiarize myself with the new one. Mind you, it is a simple one but rather different from my trusty little one that lasted almost 14 years.
So, what am I doing with my time these days? I read a lot and I knit and crochet. My sewing mojo is still absent and even my new sewing table/cabinet has not re-ignited it.
I finished a new blanket and a shawl and I am making weekly squares for a future blanket that will be donated. I have a gazillion WIPs of all kind and every day I pull one out of the stash and work on it, I hope to finish them all this year.
We are all reasonably healthy, the house is still standing and the kitties are well. The Winter was not too cold and it looks like Spring has finally sprung. I will not plant anything in the garden this year, I just don't feel like doing battle with weeds and critters. We are feeding a couple of neighborhood cats and I hope their presence will keep some of said critters away, then maybe next year I have another go at a veggie garden.
That's all for now.

Finally!
My 2018 temperature blanket is finished. I decided to leave the yarn ends as fringes rather than weave in about 700 of them.

New Year - New Blanket
This was my last finish of 2018. The pattern is called Sunshine Superstar and the yarn is Cupcake by Lion Brand. Mr. Moose approves.

More Crafty Things
I am not really spending all that much time on Pinterest, but there sure are some nice ideas to be found.
Our advent wreath this year and an 'ice lantern' made with salt. Greenery as usual from the back yard.

A Bit of Seasonal Crafting
As usual the holidays are sneaking up on me, time just goes by so fast this time of the year. I wanted a new wreath for the back door and saw something on Pinterest (where else?) that I liked and decided to give it a try.
The wreath is store bought, the twigs and the holly are from my garden, the ivy is fake. Del and I split the work and I like the result a lot.
