New Socks

Goodness, it has been ages since  I knitted socks. Luckily I had a helper yesterday so I could finish this pair in no time at all.

New Blankets ...

... for the cats, this time. To avoid having leftover yarn taking up space in my storage boxes I make cat blankets out of it. The first one is from yarn I used in a blanket I gave to the hospital, the second one are the leftovers from Atlanticus and Lilliana.

New Squares

I have decided to add yellow and cream colored squares to my blue and brown ones. These are the latest from the past two weeks.

Ta-Da!

I finished my 'Lilliana Blanket' this week. It is huge, it covers our queen size mattress completely. I used Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn in Tutti-Frutti and it took 14 skeins (over 5000 yards). I don't think I will tackle such a big project again in the near future.

Temperature Blanket 2018 - January

A New Shawl

This pattern is so quick and easy to work up,  I love it! It is called 'Dixie Charm Shawl' and is available for free here. This one is for the donation box.

Squares

The first 4 squares for the 2018 FB group charity blanket are done. This year I make them solid colored (less ends to weave in), the first set is in blues and browns. If there are enough for a second blanket I will use pinks and browns. In anticipation of the new blanket I made the last 7 squares of last year also in blues and browns.

It was an up and down kind of week, snowstorm followed by sunshine and warm weather.

Snow Day Project

I finished the first square of the Mayan Blanket. I will need 5 more.

Snow Day

It started snowing early this morning and it is still coming down. And since there is no snow removal around here, we are snowed in, good thing we are fully stocked with goodies for cats and people.

A Visitor

We had a visitor this morning. I was afraid he\she would fly off if I went outside, so I took the first photo through the kitchen window. It is a turkey vulture on the telephone pole across the street.

We had a bit of a warm spell this week, so the first yellows and greens made an appearance, but now we are back into the blues.

These are three of the projects I am currently working on (besides the temperature blanket).

Lilliana, just finished part 6 of 11.

The Woodland Blanket, which is a CAL over several weeks, currently working on part 1.

The Resonation Shawl, I like feather and fan patterns and this one caught my eye on Ravelry. And the yarn just so happened to be in my stash.

Temperature Blanket 2018 - Week 1

I finally got around to start a temperature blanket this year. I picked 19 different colors, from blues to greens and yellows and on to oranges and reds and I am using 5 degree increments to get a bigger variety of shades. I am using the temperature at 12 pm on Weatherbug since I don't have any outside thermometers and would probably forget to check them anyway. Here is the first week, which was rather cold.
