This is what I have to deal with when trying to sort my fabric scraps.

Currently on the Hook

I am adding more squares to my Gretchen Afghan. I really, really like working with this yarn and all the beautiful deep colors.

Weekend

I had quite a crafty weekend and it sure is nice knowing that it will not end for a whole week. ;-) So, while slurping iced coffee and watching old movies and weird TV series (I like weird), I was able to add three rows to my Maybelle Blanket, knit another bath scrubby (this on is for me!) and make a crochet doily. The weather was lovely, cool and sunny and the garden is looking good. The cats are happy when we are both home and they enjoyed the cooler temperatures too.

Hello June!

Well, May sure flew by in a hurry, it was a good month. I did not get everything done that I wanted but some days were just too hot to do much of anything.

And now it is June already. In June ...

... we will enjoy a one week 'staycation', why go away when everything I love is right here in my home.
... we will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, gosh, where has the time gone?
... we will welcome Summer (although it feels like it has arrived already).
... we will (hopefully) pick the first veggies in our garden.

There will also be plenty of colorful craft projects to work on, kitties to snuggle and plenty of iced coffee to drink. I will eat water melon and peaches and make ice cream. I will take it easy and enjoy every day.

Around the garden - End of May

Things are looking up. The tomatoes have recovered, the zucchinis and beans are growing and the sunflowers are looking good. The herb garden is doing well.

Baking for the weekend ...

... and beyond, depending on how long the goodies will last. A coconut-buttermilk pound cake for our afternoon coffees and a sweet raisin braid for breakfast. And in between baking I was making more squares for my two crochet blankets.

Another bath set

I finished the second scrubby/washcloth set. The light was not very good yesterday, the colors in the scrubby are a little brighter than they show up in the photo.

Hearts and Bobbles

I realized that I did not make the heart that I had planned for May, oops. So, instead my May heart is going to be two of my crochet hearts strung together to hang in my closet (the scent of the yarn is still surprisingly strong).

And I cast on another bath scrubby, I am beginning to like knitting bobbles. This one will be paired with a white wash cloth.

Birds

When I went outside this morning I noticed two big crows, one on the lamp post and the other one on the roof of the house next to ours. The one on the roof was attacked by a mocking bird protecting its nest.
